Brevin White

Four-star Princeton QB commit Brevin White now reportedly considering a major powerhouse

His commitment to Princeton was a recruiting stunner, but will it last?

It is not a regular occurrence to see Alabama and Princeton battling against one another on the recruiting trail but that is apparently transpiring, at least to some degree, at the moment. In short, four-star 2018 quarterback prospect Brevin White announced this week that he received an offer from Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.

That, of course, isn't wild on the surface given that White is a legitimate four-star prospect but, in the same breath, it gets weird when taking other factors into account. First and foremost, the senior from Paraclete (Calif.) has been committed to play for Princeton since July and, in short, that indicates a real lean toward academics-first institutions.

Still, Tom VanHaaren of ESPN now reports that White will be visiting Tuscaloosa this weekend, lending some intrigue to the proceedings.

ESPN has one of the higher grades on White in recruiting circles, listing him within the top 250 players nationally and as the No. 12 pro-style quarterback in the land. Regardless, the thought of Alabama jumping into the mix with a player currently committed to an Ivy League school should bring a lot of extra attention to this particular recruiting battle and, if Brevin White wasn't a household name previously, he is probably about to become one.
