In what has become something of a yearly tradition, Alabama head coach Nick Saban is standing up for Bama kicker Adam Griffith. Saban spoke to the media after the Crimson Tide beat Mississippi State 51-3 on Saturday and part of his postgame comments centered around the Tide kicker.

"Adam has kicked the ball very well in practice," Saban said to AL.com. "I know he kicked a couple low ones today, which is really not his style. He usually kicks the ball and it gets up very quickly. That's one of the things we really like about the way he kicks."
"I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not, but he did line drive a couple even though he made them."
"We have a lot of confidence in him," Saban said. "We just have to continue to encourage him with his plant foot and his technique to believe in it and trust in it so that he can be consistent and make some of these field goals. We have that kind of confidence in him."
Alabama fans have heard this before, it seems like every year at some point Nick Saban is coming to the defense of his kicker. Griffith is having yet another up and down season but he has hit his last 4 in row and is 14-20 on the season.
