Four-star defensive tackle Akial Byers had offers from almost 20 schools and had offers from some of the big boys like Ohio State, Oklahoma, Michigan, Florida State and his hometown Arkansas Razorbacks. However, nobody had quite the pull and connection with Byers that the Alabama staff had as he decided to commit there.

Hank South of 247Sports reported the news and included some quotes from Byers' high school coach in his story. It came down to coach Napier and Dunbar being so friendly and making a true connection with not only Akial but his family. That's why the 6'4", 275-pound Fayetteville native chose the Crimson Tide over everyone else.
