It's the beautiful time of year where NFL scouts try and tell us that a quarterback is or isn't NFL-worthy due to his hand size. The NFL Scouting Combine is underway, and the prospects' measurements began on Thursday, that include hand measurements for quarterbacks. Ideally, NFL teams like quarterbacks with 9.5-10 inch hands — one of the quarterbacks expected to go earliest is Cal QB Jared Goff, who checked in with 9 inch hands on the mark.

Another quarterback in this year's draft is former Arkansas Razorback quarterback Brandon Allen. Allen, who stands in at 6-foot-1, might be going a little too far to get his hand thumb-to-pinky size as big as it possibly can. According to Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports, Allen is seeing a massage therapist to stretch his hands twice a week with hopes of measuring a bigger hand size.
"It's obviously something I can't control," Allen said via Fox Sports "to maybe get another 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch here or there because the muscles in my hands were really tight and this can loosen them up. I have long fingers.
"It's worth a shot."
Call me crazy but I really don't think you can increase your actual hand size by stretching them. Poor guy. We'll see if it actually pays off for him.
