College player was tossed from a bowl game for a simply disgusting action

Arkansas Razorbacks agrees that one of his players should have been kicked out of the Belk Bowl

When Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema first learned that one of his players had been ejected from the Belk Bowl against Virginia Tech Thursday for flagrant unsportsmanlike conduct, he launched a mild protest.

But after receiving clarification from an official that senior wide receiver Drew Morgan spit in a Hokie defender's face, he agreed that Morgan should be booted.

"I was told he spit in a guys face, so I'm assuming he did," Bielema told reporters. "Very embarrassing for me as a head coach to say that. When the official comes over and tells me that, I of course agree he needed to be removed form the game."

Morgan was having a particularly rough outing, having fumbled twice in the game with one going through the end zone after a 74-yard reception, when his frustration seemed to boil over in the fourth quarter.

Bielema said he wouldn't want Morgan, a senior, to be remembered for such an egregious act.

"I don't want Drew to be remembered for that. Drew has done so many great things in our program."

Morgan led the Razorbacks in receptions during the regular season with 65 catches for 739 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Arkansas ended up losing the game 35-24 after squandering a 24-0 halftime lead.
