Wide receiver Marquis McClain (6-foot-2, 209 pounds, Crestview, FL, Crestview High) has committed to Auburn over Mississippi State, as he posted on his Twitter account on Sunday.
McClain is only rated between two and three stars at 247Sports, but he also held offers from Mississippi State, Minnesota, and Nebraska. McClain committing to Auburn was actually a bit of a surprise, as 274Sports had him as heavily in Mississippi State's pocket.
McClain may not be highly rated, but he is definitely an athlete. He possesses 4.45 40-speed (per Hudl), which is great for a receiver with a 6-foot-2, 209-pound frame. McClain seems like a player poised to breakout in his senior seasons and could potentially make a big impact for the Tigers in the future.
