In case you missed Auburn's A-Day spring game on Saturday, we do have some updates for you on the quarterback battle for the Tigers.
One of the biggest plays of the day? The one above, showing transfer John Franklin III tossing a 40-yard dart to Marcus Davis for a touchdown. However, that was one of few highlights on the day for the quarterbacks, as there wasn't much to be seen from the non-live — no hits on the quarterbacks — scrimmage.
All three quarterbacks got time on the field, but no one really stood out. Head coach Gus Malzahn didn't want to show too much of his offense in the practice, and thus kept things very simple.
Where do things evolve from here? Well, things will get interesting once you start to factor in when the quarterbacks can actually be hit and when they have full liberty to run. There has been a lot of talk about Franklin in the past few weeks, and one of his strengths is how he uses his feet in the offense.
With all of that said, who do you think will wind up as the starter at quarterback, Auburn fans? Franklin? Jeremy Johnson? Sean White? For what it's worth, Franklin has the confidence.
