The Auburn soccer team (11-5-1, 3-5-1) has found themselves once again on a losing streak heading into their last game of the season against Alabama before they play in the SEC Tournament. First, the Tigers dropped a 3-0 game against No. 12 Vanderbilt. Defeating the Commodores would have increase their chances of making the NCAA Tournament. Coach Karen Hoppe said after the loss, her team needs to play better in the second half.

"We just weren't good enough in the second half," Coach Hoppa told the Auburn Tigers after the game. "We got a bit unlucky and gave up the PK, but we didn't respond to that. We just need to be better. We need to stick to the game plan better and execute... We need to be better in possession, make better decision on the ball and execute in the final third," she added.
Despite 16 Tigers playing, no one was able to penetrate the Vandy defense. The Tigers didn't have long to rest before they had to play Arkansas, and it was the same story in this game: not enough scoring. The Tigers lost to the Hogs, 3-1 with Auburn's only goal coming off the foot of Angeline Daly.

The Tigers got off to a rough start to begin the game but played better in the second half. "We just started out slow," Coach Hoppa said after the game. "We need to be better at the beginning of the game. We need to be ready to go. We had a much better effort in the second half, but it was too little, too late."
The Tigers now have to regroup for the final game of the season against Alabama before preparing for the SEC Tournament The Tigers last game against the Tide will be televised on the SEC Network Thursday night at 8 p.m.
The Tide is coming off a victory over No. 5 Texas A&M and a tie against Georgia.
