Cam Newton takes his shot at teammates from this SEC school

SEC rivalries never die.

When Carolina Panthers quarterback and NFL MVP Cam Newton takes the field to practice he does it with former Georgia Bulldogs Thomas Davis and Charles Johnson. The two Dawgs were taking a veteran's rest day during training camp as was star linebacker Luke Kuechly —- a Boston College alum. However, Carolina coach Ron Rivera said Newton never takes a day off:

"Every time we try to give him one he shows up ready to practice," Rivera said. "It's a little source of pride right now with him. He's talking about how the Auburn guys are built a little bit different than the Georgia guys."

Newton is 27 and will likely be needing those key days off soon enough, but until then he's going to keep talking smack to the UGA guys about needing their days off. When you're as energetic and excited for the season as Newton it's hard to just sit still and watch practice rather than participate in it. He surely wants to follow up his MVP season with a Super Bowl-winning one too.
