Former Auburn TE starting career over after serious rape allegations

This is just awful.

Landon Rice was just a freshman tight end for Auburn last season, but his life has changed drastically over the course of a year as he is trying to restart his career at Mississippi Coast Community College according to AL.com. He's gone from potential difference-maker on offense in his freshman year to community college transfer because of rape allegations stemming from an alleged incident that occurred on-campus in April —- he was an early enrollee.

A 19-year old woman filed a police report July 27 accusing Rice of raping her April 12 and was issued a protective order in September. Rice has denied any wrongdoing through his lawyer and still has not been charged in connection with these allegations.

The former four-star recruit from the class of 2016 was expected to be a huge contributor on the field before his career was derailed by the allegations. The tight end will be eligible to play immediately, pending the outcome of this potential legal issue.
