Four-star Auburn commit suffers brutal injury in practice

This is awful.

Auburn received some bad news on Wednesday, as one of their top recruits for the 2017 class could miss his senior season after a severe leg injury.

247Sports reported late on Wednesday that four-star offensive lineman Nick Brahms (6-foot-4, 285 pounds, suffered a broken fibula and ligament damage in his right leg.

"He's just relaxing," Brahms' father said to 247Sports. "We're going to the doctor Monday. If the swelling is down enough, he'll do the surgery on Tuesday."

While this is unfortunate for Brahms, it is a good thing that he has already committed. You never want to see a recruit suffer a major injury, but at least he can have the peace of mind of already having a scholarship in place.

Brahms is Auburn's fourth highest-ranked commit of the 2017 class. That class currently ranks 12th over at 247Sports.
