The 6-foot-4, 201-pound prospect from Phenix City, Alabama, is considering Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida and Florida State. He told 247Sports that one of those teams is rising above the rest, but he won't reveal who it is just yet.
"I don't say too much about my recruitment, so they're going to think what they want to think," Ross said. "Every time I go somewhere it switches up and that (program) is my leader.
"I want my mom to be able to trust me where I'm at, I want her to be able to drop me off and everybody and her to feel comfortable with me being there by myself. So my mom plays a big part in that."

He has an official visit set to Clemson on Nov. 18 when the Tigers take on the Citadel. He said he plans to set one up with Alabama soon.
Clemson, Alabama and Auburn are likely the favorites, but he said Florida and Florida State still recruit him hard and they're still in the mix.
He doesn't plan to announce his commitment until signing day, though he said that could change. He has an official visit planned to Alabama next weekend when they host LSU.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball predicts Ross to commit to Clemson. Rivals has him ranked as the No. 19 player overall in the class of 2018 and the No. 2 player at the position.
