Auburn Police Division of Public Safety and Security Chance Corbett told the Auburn Plainsman the damage to the trees will cost around $15,000 to $20,000.
The oak tree was set on fire after Auburn defeated LSU 18-13 on Sept. 24. Jochen Weist was arrested and charged with felony criminal mischief, public intoxication and desecration of a venerable object for burning the tree.

A preliminary hearing was held for Weist, who was not present for the proceedings.
The trees at Toomer's Corner had to be replaced after they were famously poisoned by Harvery Updyke several years ago. The new trees had just taken root not long ago, and had just been cleared for the traditional rolling by Auburn earlier this year.
