Former Auburn OC reportedly jumping ship from new job after less than a year

Well that didn't take long.

It looks like offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee won't be an enduring figure in Connecticut.

Less than a year after suddenly leaving Auburn for the the offensive coordinator job at UConn, Lashlee is now reportedly jumping to take the same position at SMU.

Lashlee will be serving under new SMU head coach Sonny Dykes. Dykes is replacing Chad Morris, who has since been hired by Arkansas to replace the fired Bret Bielema.

The coaching carousel never stops, people.

Lashlee started his career at Auburn as a graduate assistant before taking the offensive coordinator job at Samford and eventually Arkansas State.

He returned to the Tigers in 2013 with Gus Malzahn, and he eventually found himself as the team's main play-caller in the 2016 season. After receiving some interest in the UConn head coaching job, Lashlee eventually jumped to take the offensive coordinator position instead.
