Spring practices are rolling on for the Auburn Tigers, a team that is in the midst of a heated quarterback battle.
The Tigers have three potential starters at quarterback, with returning starter Jeremy Johnson, rising backup Sean White, and Florida State transfer John Franklin III. Johnson was actually touted as a Heisman candidate at the start of 2015, but that story was quickly hushed, as Johnson threw six interceptions in Auburn's first three games in an uninspiring start. White then got the nod, and was potentially a slight improvement, but he soon suffered an injury.
It wasn't apparent in this video, but reports from AL.com are that Johnson and Franklin were the two taking snaps with the first-team, with White taking all of the snaps with the second team.
We won't know if that is where the depth chart is leaning really until the fall, since this is a race likely to be decided in fall practices before the season. Still, Franklin getting some reps with the first-team? It's a sign that this race might be even more complicated than originally thought.
