Not very many teams still run plays that feature the fullback, including Alabama. Something Alabama has been known to do is line up big defensive lineman near the goalline to plow the road for Bama's running backs.
Saturday Bama did a hybrid of those two things, they put freshman linebacker Mack Wilson in at fullback and let him lead the way for Bo Scarbrough and boy did he bring the pain to the Western Kentucky defense. Wilson destroyed the Hilltoppers defender to open the hole for Scarbrough to walk into the endzone for the touchdown.
It was an all-around painful day for the Western Kentucky defense, which lost to Alabama 38-10.
