Remember when Alabama lost three linebackers in one week? VanDarius Cowan was dismissed, Terrell Lewis tore his ACL, and Keith Holcombe left the program for the Crimson Tide baseball team.
Well, that didn't seem to bother Nick Saban and company much, and the Crimson Tide just scored a late commitment for the 2018 season that will have you saying "VanDarius... Who?"
Brandon "Ale" Kaho was the No. 1 rated inside linebacker in the nation by 247 Sports when he committed to play his college football for the Washington Huskies.
On Monday, Kaho was released from his national letter of intent by Washington, and now has signed to play the 2018 season with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Kaho's recruitment also included offers from Notre Dame, Oregon, USC, Texas, Stanford and Tennessee according to 247Sports.com.
Kaho played high school football in Reno, Nevada, where he was named a U.S. Army All-American and played in the Polynesian Bowl.
Originally committed to BYU back in 2016, Kaho left the Huskies' program after head coach Chris Petersen cited "personal reasons."
The word that comes synonymous with Ale Kaho's game is versatility. He's listed as an inside linebacker prospect, but Kaho's speed and athleticism make him a dynamic option for Alabama's outside linebacker position as well.
Even though fall camp practices are underway, due to the NCAA's new redshirt rule, Kaho is likely to contribute as an incoming freshman at some point this season for the Crimson Tide's vaunted defense.
