ESPN names its best uniforms and the SEC's might surprise you

Not the ones I would have gone with, but ok.

ESPN has been going through and naming its best stadium and traditions for each conference this week. Today's flavor was best uniforms. Tons of Tennessee fans are going to be upset that it isn't the new Nike Smokey Grays, but this decision wasn't all that bad either.

Here's what SEC blogger Sam Khan Jr. thought about the best uniforms in the conference and why it's the Tigers:

"There are several good choices in the SEC but we on the SEC blog went with LSU's white jerseys with the gold (or yellow, more accurately) helmet and pants. Alabama's look (particularly the helmet) is definitely a classic and worthy of consideration but there's something about the Tigers, who got an exception to the NCAA's 'must wear color at home' uniform rule granted in 1995 when then-head coach Gerry DiNardo was determined to restore their uniform tradition. Maybe it's because they've played so many memorable games on Saturday nights in Death Valley wearing that particular uniform (when at home, they now only wear whites for the home opener or SEC games), maybe it's the fierce Tiger head under the letters L-S-U on the side of the helmet or the purple-and-gold stripes on each shoulder but the Tigers' whites are appealing to us."

Just give these guys a couple more seasons to let the Smokey Grays get some traction and be known for the big games only. They spurred the huge comeback for the Vols against Georgia in 2015 and will get broken out for another game this season, it's just a matter of which one. Florida's classic and unique take on orange and blue shouldn't be overlooked either, but apparently LSU's uniforms are just that much better according to the ESPN guys.
