The top-ranked player in the state of Oklahoma for the class of 2019 has yet to make his college choice, but many believe that decision could be coming before the high school football season begins.
Five-star safety Daxton Hill made an official visit to Tuscaloosa, Alabama from June 15-17, and according to BamaOnLine, Hill could announce his decision in the next few weeks. Alabama dominates college football recruiting year after year, and Hill is the latest recruit to name the SEC powerhouse in his top choices.
"Really just how tough they workout," Hill told BamaOnLine when discussing his interest in Alabama. "How tougher their schedule is — not like football opponents — just the things they do outside of football and with football. Just how they carry themselves as a whole football program."
The Booker T. Washington High School senior is ranked No. 14 in the 2019 ESPN 300 and is considered the top ranked defensive back by every seemingly every scout in the country. Hill's short list of schools include the Crimson Tide, Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State, where his brother, sophomore runningback Justice Hill, led all FBS freshman with 1,142 rushing yards last season to set an OK State freshman record.
Justice might be the biggest influence to pull his brother away from Alabama to stay in their home state and team up in Stillwater, Oklahoma:
Daxton Hill helped lead Booker T. Washington to a 12-1 record and a 6A Division II State Championship in 2017. Washington finished 2017 as the No. 3 ranked school in the entire state.
With a few official visits still remaining, Hill's decision will be awaited with Alabama already holding the top ranked recruiting class of 2019. There are currently 12 former Alabama defensive backs playing in the NFL. If Alabama plays their cards right, Daxton Hill has the opportunity to add his name to that list as well.
Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide open their 2018 title defense in primetime September 1 against Louisville.
