6'5" and four-star defensive end Malcolm Lamar has already said that Gainesville, Fla. "feels like home" for him and it seems the Florida Gators are doing even more than that in his recruiting. When he spoke to 247Sports he said that the Gators were also the school showing him the most love.
"Florida is actually showing me the most love out of any other school. They hit me up more than anyone else and we can talk on a football level or on a personal level. I just like being there and I like the coaches. It's right up the road about two hours away so it's not that far. I have a good relationship with the coaches like Coach Mac and Coach [Chris] Rumph and that is a plus."
UF did sign three big bodies on the defensive line in the 2017 class, but the need for depth is always there and that is how they have sold Lamar so far. While he claims that no team is standing out, his last couple of interviews would suggest the Florida is the leader as he's already said it feels like home —- it is only two hours away from where he plays high school football at Armwood High in Seffner —- and he's made it clear the Gators re recruiting him hard.
