Florida will be without two players that didn't see much playing time towards the end of the season last year. Placekicker Austin Hardin and offensive lineman Travaris Dorsey are expected to transfer, as first reported by Bob Redman of Scout.com.
Hardin struggled significantly during both the 2014 and 15 seasons. Last year alone, Hardin made just five field goals and 24 point after attempts, filling in for an injured Jorge Powell through most of the season. Following the Gators' 35-28 loss to LSU on the road when Powell got injured, the team held tryouts for a new walk-on placekicker and ended up allowing Dennis MacIness to the team, although he never saw any real reps.
Dorsey was a member of Florida's 2014 recruiting class as a three-star recruit with solid size (6-foot-2, 315 pounds) but took a redshirt in 2014 and didn't see any game action. He played in ten games last season, filling in for an injured offensive line.
All in all, these transfers don't hurt the team too much, especially given that these guys were pretty far down the depth chart. As far as Florida's kicking game goes, Jim McElwain better hope five-star kicker Eddie Pineiro, who signed with the Gators in February, can live up to his high expectations.
