Current Gator and former Muschamp recruit takes clear shot at Coach Boom

That's a burn.

Florida fans and players experienced some good times with coach Will Muschamp leading the team. After that magical 11-2 season that saw the Gators get to the Sugar Bowl —- and lose to former Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong's team —- it was all downhill from there.

The Gators went 4-8 the next season, which included an incredibly embarrassing loss to Georgia Southern and then went a mediocre 6-5 the next season. That created some animosity in the locker room and outside of it because everyone knew the team was much better than those two records would indicate.

With Florida playing against a Muschamp-led South Carolina team this weekend for Senior Day, some of those feelings might break out again. Defensive lineman Joey Ivie is one of many players who was originally recruited by Muschamp and he says there's a clear difference between Boom's style of coaching and McElwain's:

Sounds like we have an explanation for why Florida was so bad those last two seasons under Muschamp then. It also sounds like Ivie is going to be playing harder than usual for the game against the Gamecocks on his special day.
