Four-star receiver James Robinson was almost a guaranteed Florida commit for Wednesday's National Signing Day. However, he won't be admitted to the school because the administration won't let him on campus after he was cited for marijuana possession during his official visit to Ohio State two weekends ago.

That could have been the end of the story, but Florida coach Jim McElwain proved why kids love to play for him and that he's loyal, even to recruits who haven't given him a commitment. When McElwain heard that he wasn't going to be able to sign Robinson he still went out and contacted 18 schools in an effort to get Robinson signed somewhere.

Several people took notice including a key receiver recruit in Jacob Copeland who is part of the next recruiting cycle. He thinks other potential Gators should pay attention to gestures like this.
From my looks coach McElwain is real. He tried everything in his ability to help a recruit out. That's some we recruits should look at. ✊🏽💯

While the lack of commitment from Robinson hurts the Gators, this story will definitely help McElwain down the road as it shows how much he cares about all the kids that come through his program and might help him with some other recruits next year.
