ESPN's FPI rankings name its most improved team in 2018

Huge jump from last season.

Florida is expected to be the most improved team in college football, according to the ESPN FPI preseason rankings.

The Gators jumped 28 spots from No. 50 to No. 22 overall, the largest improvement of any team from the previous season.

Florida is expected to return 19 starters and has ranked in the teens during each of the last four recruiting cycles.

The Gators rank No. 31 overall in offense, No. 16 in defense and No. 36 in special teams among FBS teams, according to the FPI.

ESPN also noted that despite returning former starting quarterback Feliepe Franks, new head coach Dan Mullen could find another option during spring and fall camp.
