Florida freshman safety suffers a broken foot, will undergo surgery

Quincy Lenton was expected to add some depth to the safety position this fall.

A reserve member of Florida's secondary apparently has suffered a broken foot. Freshman safety Quincy Lenton tweeted on Wednesday that he broke his foot, according to 247Sports. Below is an excerpt from 247's report.

"Broke my foot again bro," Lenton replied. That tweet was later deleted, but Lenton followed it up with a tweet that read simply: "It's all good, I'll bounce back."

The Atlanta Journal-Consitution later confirmed the report, and added that he would have to undergo surgery. Lenton was a three-star recruit in the 2017 class for Florida. The Gators have some moving pieces at the safety position, so Lenton would have added some depth at the position. Given that Florida's defensive back corps is already pretty deep though, it's unlikely Lenton would have seen the field this fall anyway.
