Florida may play LSU without its best specialist because of misdemeanor charge

Why would he do this?

Without fail this year, Florida fans have chanted "Ed-dy! Ed-dy!" every time kicker Eddy Pineiro has come on the field. Whether it's for field goals or PATs, he gets the exact same chant with the same amount of enthusiasm. However, fans won't be enthusiastic about his current situation.

He is being charged with a misdemeanor and could potentially miss the huge game against LSU this weekend in Baton Rouge.

This makes almost no sense as Pineiro seems to be a genuinely nice kid. Yesterday, coach Jim McElwain was asked if Pineiro would play and he said yes, but he may not have been aware of the situation unfolding.

Pineiro has made 13-of-17 of his field goals and has made all 25 of his extra point attempts this season. He's also kicked a touchback 35 times on his 47 attempts.
