If you're like the staff at FanBuzz and can't wait for college football, you'll love Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley's suggestion to start the season a little earlier.
Here's what he said on a radio show, per Saturday Down South:
"More than anything else what I would like to see is maybe the season expanded so there's two open dates every year," Foley said. "That would mean some years you'd have to play a game a little earlier in August, but I think that would be beneficial to every football program in America and every football player in America."
We're all on board with a longer football season even if it means having two bye weeks.
And maybe that's just the type of outside the box thinking the sport needs. It's a brutal game with serious injuries, and maybe adding a bit more recovery time and a couple weeks off per season wouldn't be the worst decision in the world.
