Florida’s AD wants this change made to college football, and we’re all aboard

If you’re like the staff at FanBuzz and can’t wait for college football, you’ll love Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley’s suggestion to start the season a little earlier.

Here’s what he said on a radio show, per Saturday Down South:

“More than anything else what I would like to see is maybe the season expanded so there’s two open dates every year,” Foley said. “That would mean some years you’d have to play a game a little earlier in August, but I think that would be beneficial to every football program in America and every football player in America.”

We’re all on board with a longer football season even if it means having two bye weeks.

And maybe that’s just the type of outside the box thinking the sport needs. It’s a brutal game with serious injuries, and maybe adding a bit more recovery time and a couple weeks off per season wouldn’t be the worst decision in the world.
