Last month, Florida head coach Jim McElwain told an Alabama radio station that he was prepared to hold several satellite camps before the ban on them took effect. Fortunately, that stance was reversed and now satellite camps will undoubtedly abound around the country.

The SEC's ban on satellite camps officially lifts on May 29 and you can bet the Florida coach will get out there during the quiet recruiting period to find some diamonds in the rough.
"It's an opportunity for coaches to go off campus during a quiet period and evaluate personnel," McElwain said of satellite camps Tuesday at Space Coast Gator Club. "That's really what it's all about. Hey look, it's a rule. I don't really care. We'll join in. How's that?"
McElwain held camps while he was at Colorado State so he knows what he's doing and he will get to do it on a much larger scale considering the resources Florida has compared to CSU. Auburn is planning on holding camps in Miami, Atlanta and Tampa this summer with seven SEC school expected to attend a camp in Stockbridge, Georgia.
