Florida's potential starting QB is now on scholarship

It sounds like he earned it!

Florida almost started its year playing a quarterback who wasn't even on scholarship. Transfer Luke Del Rio didn't have a scholarship when he came from Oregon State, but it seems he's changed that with his play in the Spring Game and summer workouts.

He had a Twitter exchange with a couple of fans and it turns out he earned a scholarship.

Del Rio turned down a few offers in high school, including one from Jim McElwain at Colorado State, to join Alabama's program as a walk-on in 2013. He left for Oregon State the following year and was on scholarship there for one season.

Del Rio is believed to be the leader right now to start in Florida's first game of the season against UMass in September.
