The college football world has known that former Florida running back Jordan Cronkrite was going to transfer since early December. After several months of speculation, the former four-star ball carrier has a destination for 2017 and beyond and Cronkrite's next stop will be at South Florida.

South Florida, along with Cincinnati and Temple, was among the teams included in rumblings surrounding his departure from Gainesville and this makes a lot of sense. USF picks up a former top-250 player with 31 carries and 145 yards of production under his belt at the college level and that is a player that the Bulls wouldn't always be in the mix for on the open market.
As for Florida, the Gators are still in great shape at running back with the return of Jordan Scarlett, Lamical Perine and others. Cronkrite will be forced to miss the entire 2017 season because of NCAA transfer rules, but USF will get him for two years of eligibility after that and can treat him as an incoming member of the 2018 recruiting "class" to infuse talent.
It remains to be seen what Jordan Cronkrite can do with a full-time workload and we may never know, but USF presents a more likely scenario for that and this looks to be a good marriage.
