Former Florida running back Fred Taylor named to 2015 SEC Legends Class

Fred Taylor played under Steve Spurrier at Florida during the 1994-97 seasons.

Members of the 2015 SEC Members Class were revealed on Tuesday, and former Gator great Fred Taylor will be inducted into this year's class. Taylor, who played at Florida under Steve Spurrier during the 1994-97 seasons, will be honored at various events during SEC Championship weekend this upcoming December.

Taylor earned first-team All-America honors from the Walter Camp Football Foundation and was named All-SEC his senior year in 1997. That year he led the Gators in rushing that season with 1,292 yards on 214 carries and a team-high 13 touchdowns. Taylor had eight 100-yard rushing performances, was also a team captain in the same year. After Taylor's senior season, he was drafted in the 1998 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had a very successful career, recording seven 1,000-yard rushing seasons to rank No. 15 on the NFL's all-time rushing yards list. He retired from the NFL following the 2010 season after a 13-year career with the Jaguars and Patriots.
