Former Gator great cut by NFL team after arrest

Just awful.

Miami Dolphins defensive end and former Florida great Leon Orr was arrested Tuesday in Collier County. The 24-year old was arrested on marijuana possession charges according to the Naples Daily News and was released on $7,000 bond. Upon hearing the news, the Dolphins took swift action.

Orr was taken off the practice field on Wednesday and cut when the team found out.

"We're in the middle of the season," Dolphins coach Adam Gase explained. "We have priorities and this is the No. 1 priority. Guys who have other priorities, they can go about their business somewhere else."

Orr had just been promoted from the practice team last month, but when police smell marijuana in the car because they pulled you over for tinted windows, you won't last long on any team. Deputies smelled marijuana and found drugs stuffed in Orr's pants and in his car, the Daily News reported.

Orr has had his fair share of problems over the last couple years. He called out then-Florida coach Will Muschamp for quitting on the team as he was being sent home for complaining about not starting. He went undrafted out of Florida and played with the Oakland Raiders last year before heading to Miami.
