Four-star defensive tackle Shavar Manuel (6-foot-4, 290 pounds, Bradenton, Fla.) took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce his commitment to the University of Florida.
This is big news for Florida, as they have been suffering from a bit of a flood of departures recently. Manuel becomes the 26th member of the Gators' 2016 class, joining 10 early-enrollees and 15 commits.
Manuel is already a big body, but he also rates highly in athleticism and speed according to 247Sports. Those attributes in combination should help him acclimate quickly to the college game. Manuel was also considering Florida State and LSU before committing to the Gators.
