Gators close to renewing classic rivalry in 2019

Well it's about time!

The Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes have not played each on the gridiron since 2013 and 2008 before that. The two played every year from 1945 until 1987, but then didn't see each other again until 2001 when Miami then took home a win for four straight years.

It seems the two schools are interested in revitalizing the flame of that rivalry as Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley told the Gainesville Sun's Robbie Andreu.

The game would also help with out of conference scheduling for both schools as no one would be able to accuse either school of scheduling cupcakes to start the season. It would also complete the Florida "Big 3" triangle of all the schools playing each other every year as well.
