Jim McElwain addresses transfer rumors, gives spring football updates

Florida football began spring practice earlier this month.

Florida football will lose two players to transfer, head coach Jim McElwain confirmed on Monday. The report first broke late Sunday evening that placekicker Austin Hardin and offensive lineman Travaris Dorsey would be transferring from the program. McElwain addressed the rumors as he met with the media on Monday afternoon.

The news isn't all that surprising, especially with Hardin after the Gators signed five-star kicking prospect Eddie Pineiro signed with the Gators last month. Dorsey was expected to be a big help on the offensive line, but after redshirting during the 2014 season, he saw action in ten games last season, helping a banged up offensive line.

McElwain also added that redshirt freshman wideout Kalif Jackson will likely miss spring due to a patella injury, according to Scott Carter of GatorZone. There was a quote about how the quarterbacks are doing as well.
