Jim McElwain announces C'yontai Lewis and Jalen Tabor will return to practice

The suspensions reportedly resulted in a fight during practice.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Florida head coach Jim McElwain has suspended Florida cornerback Jalen Tabor and tight end C'yontai Lewis both from practice and for the season opener on Sept. 3 against UMass. Later is was reported that the suspension resulted in a fight between the two during a practice. On Friday afternoon, McElwain met with the media and informed them that the two would return to the team for practice next Thursday, roughly eight days before the first game of the season. The two are still suspended for the actual game.

ESPN's Brett McMurphy reported earlier this week that the two were in a fight and that's what led to the suspension.

Apparently it was pretty serious too as there was some blood involved.

So for now, the Gators will be starting the season without their leading returning cornerback and tight end. We will continue to update the situation if it continues to develop.
