NCAA to announce sanctions against Florida football on Friday

In June, wide receivers coach Joker Phillips abruptly resigned amid recruiting violations, leaving the program without one of its top recruiters and a valuable coach. Coach Muschamp decided to promote graduate assistant and former quarterback Chris Leak to the position.

Phillips was spotted with a recruit at a restaurant during the dead period. The NCAA received a picture of the pair by the University of Miami.

The NCAA will release its sanctions against the University of Florida for the illegal "bump" at 1 p.m. A bump is a secondary violation when coaches unexpectedly meet with recruits. If the meeting was found to be prearranged, the sanctions could be severe.

The good thing for Florida is once they found out this happened, Phillips resigned almost immediately.
