Florida loses one of their top recruits amid coaching change

He was one of Florida's top commits of the 2019 class.

Florida has obviously had some positives in their recent coaching change, which resulted in the hiring of Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen. That said, the drawbacks are still there and may take some time to work out.

One of those drawbacks occurred on Tuesday, as four-star wide receiver Maurice Goolsby (6-foot-5, 196 pounds, Dunnellon, Fla.) announced that he had decommitted from the program.

Due to the recent coaching changes me and my family have decided to open back up my recruit at this time I will be de-committing from the University of Florida

This obviously isn't unusual for a team going through a change, and it doesn't necessarily mean that the Gators are out for the running for Goolsby. He is a class of 2019 recruit, so he will have plenty of time to consider his decision before Signing Day comes about.

Goolsby is rated as a four-star by the 247Sports Composite.
