Report: Michigan running back Derrick Green to transfer, could land at Florida

Derrick Green was a five-star prospect during his recruitment

Derrick Green, the former five-star running back out of Virginia, will be transferring as of Friday afternoon. Green rushed for 898 yards and seven touchdowns in three seasons in Ann Arbor, but didn't have much production this past fall in Jim Harbaugh's first season, rushing for just 157 yards.

Green, will reportedly graduate this spring from Michigan, making him a graduate transfer meaning he'll be eligible as early as this upcoming 2016 season. recently followed the majority of Florida's coaching staff on Twitter. Now this happens with transfers a lot — they'll follow coaching staff of potential landing spot schools, but it is definitely interesting to say the least.

This would be a big get for Jim McElwain's offense — Florida just lost junior tailback Kelvin Taylor to the NFL Draft a couple of weeks ago.
