Four-star WR Trey Knox "rekindles" interest in SEC team after latest visit, names others he's looking at

One SEC team left a positive impression on a four-star prospect.

Four-star 2019 wide receiver Trey Knox enjoyed his visit to the University of Florida last weekend and the Gators reportedly remain a favorite to earn his commitment, according to 247Sports.

"The atmosphere was great," said Knox after the visit. "The fans were really supporting the team all the way to the end of the game. I like how they tried to air the ball out being a receiver I like that. They used their weapons with guys in the wildcat, on the perimeter, and in between the tackles."

Knox had previously visited Florida's campus during the summer after receiving a scholarship offer from the program. He said that having a personal conversation with head coach Jim McElwain "rekindled" his interest in joining the Gators.

"Talking with Coach Mac you know kind of rekindles the love for Gainesville," explained Knox. "I was happy to be back and they were happy to get me back. I haven't been here in a long time and I just missed the city and the school. It was a great experience and I could feel the energy walking on the field when nobody was even in there."

Florida currently has the top-ranked class for the 2019 national recruiting cycle with 12 commits. Knox is still deciding between Florida, Clemson, Tennessee and Ohio State — who remain the leader in his recruitment.

"It's hard to say right now," said Knox of a leader. "I like Ohio State, Clemson, Tennessee I don't know, definitely Florida is back in the top. I love this place and it feels like home."

Knox, who originally planned to announce his choice at some point this year, told 247Sports in August that he's going to continue exploring his options and plans to visit several schools this season.

"I did (think about deciding soon), but then I think I'm going to hold off right now and wait 'til next year, because I've still got to see everything and see what's best for me," Knox said after helping his high school team cruise to a 52-21 win Friday night.

"It was going to happen in September sometime. But I think I'm just going to hold off."

Knox currently ranks as the No. 19 wide receiver, No. 3 player from the state of Tennessee and No. 104 overall prospect for the 2019 national recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
