Grier decided to transfer from Florida in December after being suspended for one-year due to a failed drug test relating to performance enhancing substances. The Gators — who were 6-0 before Grier's suspension — fell apart in the wake of his absence, finishing the year 4-3, including a 41-7 loss to Michigan in the Capital One Bowl.
Grier threw for 1,204 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2015 as a freshman in six games. He still has to serve the remaining six games of his year-long suspension, as it was handed down by the NCAA and not the University of Florida. This will be in addition to him sitting out the standard year as a non-graduate transfer.
