Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly is out for the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL and lateral meniscus, and Rebels coach Hugh Freeze now has a tough decision to make.

Freeze indicated in a press conference he was considering burning the redshirt on freshman quarterback Shea Patterson. Patterson was the number one pro-style quarterback in the Class of 2016.
This move wouldn't make much sense considering Ole Miss is 4-5 on the year and can't contend for a conference title. It's understandable the Rebels want to reach a bowl game, and their three remaining games are against Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. But even if they fail to reach a bowl game, Freeze has plenty of job security.
Ole Miss would have a chance to win out with Patterson at the helm, but is a 7-5 season worth burning the redshirt of the future of the program? The Rebels should just play the rest of the season out and hope to have Patterson for four full seasons.
