Former Aggies coach Jackie Sherill thinks Texas A&M should make these changes with their safeties

Earlier in the week, Texas A&M defensive coordinator John Chavis compared Texas A&M defensive back Donovan Wilson to former LSU star Tyrann Mathieu and the comparison wasn't far off. Now, former Texas A&M head coach Jackie Sherill is getting in on the fun, taking things much further than a simple comparison.

Sherill, who won 52 games in six seasons for the Aggies ('82-'88), thinks Chavis should plug Wilson—along with safeties Justin Evans and Armani Watts—in at linebacker.

"There are three of them back there, you know Armani Watts, Justin Evans, and Donovan Wilson," Sherill said, according to TexAgs.com. "I kept trying to get Coach Chavis, I said, 'You know, you got three guys back there who are making all the plays, why not put them at linebacker?'"

An interesting suggestion considering none of those players are particularly "beefy" in terms of size. To Sherill's credit, Wilson has forced five turnovers and two sacks in five games so far this season while Watts and Evans have 39 and 27 tackles respectively.
