For many years, fans in the Southeastern Conference have been accustomed to hearing Verne Lundquist announce football games on Saturday afternoons for CBS.

Lundquist retired from broadcasting football after the 2016 season, so now SEC fans will hear another familiar voice as former ESPN play-by-play announcer Brad Nessler will take over for Lundquist this season.

Nessler's first game for the SEC on CBS will be a non conference showdown between TCU and Arkansas in Fayetteville on Sept. 9.
On Sept. 16, Nessler will call his first SEC game when Tennessee takes on Florida.
The remainder of the schedule has yet to be determined with the exception of the Georgia vs. Florida game on Oct. 28, which CBS broadcasts each year.
Nessler previously worked at CBS from 1990-91.
Nessler will be teamed with Gary Danielson in the booth and sideline reporter Allie LaForce. Danielson was previously the color commentator with Lundquist for the SEC games.
