The four-star defensive tackle Eric Crosby (6-foot-1, 285 pounds, Virginia Beach, Va.) has announced his verbal commitment. On Friday afternoon, Crosby announced he was verbally committing to Tennessee. Scout.com's Danny Parker first reported the news, and Crosby spoke with Rivals.com to address what went into his decision.
"Tennessee has a great coaching staff and they always make me feel at home while I'm there," Crosby said via Rivals.com. "I just think it's a great fit for me.
"I really love the atmosphere with all the fans," he said. "They love the players there. They always make me feel wanted and loved there."
Crosby was choosing between Virginia Tech, whose proximity to Virginia Beach meant new Hokies head coach Justin Fuente was recruiting him hard. Crosby was also considering Virginia and Florida State. His commitment brings Tennessee's 2017 verbal commit total to seven.
