The Georgia Bulldogs have had to deal with plenty of movement in the transfer portal this offseason, but head coach Kirby Smart got a big win on Friday, finding his potential Brock Bowers replacement in Benjamin Yurosek.

According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Yurosek is transferring to Georgia after being a three-year starter for the Stanford Cardinal.

Coming in at 6'4" and 242 pounds, Yurosek has played a legitimate role in Stanford's offense over the past few seasons. Despite a down year in 2023, Yurosek finished his career at Stanford with 108 receptions for 1,342 yards and five touchdowns. He also saw limited opportunities carrying the ball, rushing 14 times for an impressive 114 yards.
Now, Yurosek will have big shoes to fill by replacing the most dominant tight end in the country over the last few seasons. Brock Bowers was an integral part of Georgia's offense, earning first-team All-SEC honors three times, first-team All-American honors twice, and back-to-back John Mackey Award trophies going to the best tight end in the country.
Yurosek won't be the only tight end trying to fill in for Georgia, however. Junior tight end Oscar Delp will likely continue to play a big role for the Bulldogs after showing flashes as a sophomore in 2023. He finished the year with 24 receptions for 284 yards and three touchdowns.
Regardless of who ends up establishing themselves as Georgia's top tight end, both will be needed to keep the Bulldogs moving in 2024. They'll also be asked to be key weapons in the passing game for Carson Beck, who established himself as one of the more impressive quarterbacks in the country over the tail end of this past season, throwing for nearly 4,000 yards with 24 touchdowns and just six interceptions.
Yurosek will have some big shoes to fill, but Georgia fans are excited to see what the Stanford transfer can do in 2024.
