Following the Georgia Bulldogs 27-24 loss in the SEC Championship to the Alabama Crimson Tide, one of their top recruits from May, Dylan Raiola, is considering other options.

Raiola, the son of former NFL offensive lineman Dominic Raiola, will take an official visit to Nebraska from December 15-17, and it appears he could switch his commitment. Nebraska already has a commitment from in-state quarterback prospect Daniel Kaelin, and former Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord has transferred there.

Recently, Raiola posted on X encouraging his teammate and fellow five-star recruit KJ Bolden to join him in Georgia. It seems Bolden is now considering Georgia after originally committing to Florida State.
"Nebraska is Nebraska," Raiola told On3 in January. "My dad went there, so Nebraska is family to my family. It is a program with a lot of history. A lot of great players have played there and Nebraska is special to my family."
For Georgia, coming off a loss in the SEC Championship game, it looks like they're slated to enter the 2024 season with Carson Beck as their signal-caller. The back-to-back national champions have already seen quarterback Brock Vandagriff transfer away from the program to Kentucky. Cornerback Nyland Green entered the transfer portal on December 6 but has not picked a new program.
It seems to become a trend that as soon as a program faces some adversity, the commits or current players look elsewhere. We've seen this with other programs, but the above mentioned back-to-back national champion Georgia Bulldogs are seeing that, albeit to a lesser extent.
Losing a prospect like Raiola could be massive for the program if he lives up to his scouting reports.
"The ability to drive the ball with velocity regardless of the weather conditions are things that impress because of his mechanics and ability to transfer his weight in the lower body and not just rely on his arm to make throws," 247Sports national recruiting expert Chris Singletary said of Raiola. "He has a fluid throwing motion that does not possess any flaws or hitches."
