RELATED: Georgia restricts transfer of RB A.J. Turman
Mike Greenberg of ESPN's Mike & Mike has an axe to grind against Georgia's Kirby Smart over the handling of the transfer of running back A.J. Turman.
Greenberg went on a full rant on the subject on his show with Mike Golic, completely ripping Smart a new one over what he sees as petty transfer restictions.

"You know what? Shame on you. You're scared of some 19-year old kid going some place, a guard who's obviously barely playing for you and that's why he wants to transfer in the first place, or has whatever other reason to want to go someplace else. And you're so terrified to allow him to go play for someone on your schedule. Shame on you, you're making millions of dollars. This is this kid's one chance in life to play college football. He should be allowed to go wherever the hell he wants, and for some coach to sit there and put restrictions on, 'cause he's in the conference or on his schedule, is a disgrace and it shouldn't be allowed.
Greenberg is right in this situation. There's an understanding about why a coach would want to restrict a transfer, but Turman has yet to play for Georgia, and he is completely buried on the depth chart to the point where he's unlikely to play for the Bulldogs in the future.
Are you really that scared of him playing against you in the future? Just let him go, Kirby.
