Four-star CB Chad Clay commits to Georgia over Florida and Ohio State

After picking up a four-star commitment on Friday, the Georgia Bulldogs were back at it on Monday. The Dawgs picked up a commitment from four-star CB Chad Clay, whose dad actually played for rival Georgia Tech.

Clay's father, Willie, still holds the record for most interceptions at Tech. Now, Dawg fans hope Clay sets records when he gets to Athens.

"I picked the University of Georgia because their coaching staff really recruited me the hardest," Clay told the AJC. "I really built a great relationship with Coach Pruitt and the rest of the coaches there. I've grown up in Georgia, and to have the chance to play for the University of Georgia is just a blessing."

The Suwanee, Ga. native said he didn't finalize his commitment until Saturday. Two Bulldogs coaches, Jeremy Pruitt and Thomas Brown, showed up at Peachtree Ridge, his high school, to watch his school's scrimmage.

Clay said Ohio State finished as the runner-up. Even though he verbally committed, his recruitment is still not over.

"It was really, really tough to make that decision," Clay said. "But I'm still going to keep my recruiting open. I'll probably visit UGA, Ohio State, Florida and Oklahoma. I'm still going to keep things open."

Georgia now has 12 commits in the class of 2016.
