Georgia adding transfer DB, and just at the right time

This could certainly help the Dawgs.

Georgia's secondary took a hit with the dismissal of freshman defensive back Chad Clay, but it seems like the Bulldogs have already found a replacement. At least one that will help in 2017 anyway.

Dawgs247 is reporting that Tulsa DB J.R. Reed has signed with the Bulldogs and will enroll at UGA in August. He originally signed with Tulsa in 2014 and redshirted that season. In 2015, he recorded five total tackles and one pass breakup.

His eligibility is still up in the air, but it is presumed that he will have to sit out a year per NCAA transfer rules. The Dawgs are also in the hunt for Alabama graduate transfer Maurice Smith who could fill the void at the position immediately since he won't have to sit out a year.
